Housesitting in Panama

What is housesitting?

For many, housesitting has become a feasible alternative method of travel.

Basically, it works as an exchange of services between volunteers (housesitters) and homeowners. The role of the housesitter is to look after the owner’s pet(s) and provide security for their home while they’re away for a period of time. In return, the sitters typically enjoy rent-free accommodation.

The cost of utilities (such as gas and electricity) is usually covered by the host, too. So, for the housesitter, any financial commitment is normally limited to transportation, food and entertainment. Any financial contribution that might be required by the host would normally be stipulated in their listing.

For more information, you can read our extensive guide to the world of housesitting.

Ian and Nicky New Zealand

Hi, we're Ian and Nicky, an English couple on a voyage of discovery around the world, and this blog is designed to reflect what we see, think and do. Actually, we'd like to think it also provides information, entertainment and inspiration for other “mature” travellers, too. So please feel free to pour yourself a glass of something suitably chilled and take a look around.
